Event Info:
Welcome to Memory Ride 2009:

Ride for a cause. Ride for a cure.

Funds: 90% of money raised by Memory Ride participants funds the Memory Ride grant awarded through the Alzheimer's Association's research grants program. 10% of the proceeds stays in Massachusetts to help fund programs and services.

The Alzheimer's Association research grants program supports core goals of the Association's mission to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.

Thanks to donors, the Association has become the largest private, nonprofit funder of Alzheimer research. As a result of the wonderful effort put forth by the 2008 Memory Ride, two Memory Ride research grants were awarded. The recipients of the grant were: Dorene M. Rentz, Psy.D. from Bringham and Women’s Hospital, Inc. and Angela L. Jefferson, Ph.D. from Boston University For more information on the work they are doing, please visit the Alzheimer's Association website

The Route: More experienced riders will enjoy the 62, 100 and 125 mile ride through the scenic landscapes of Central Massachusetts. If you are new to biking and are looking for a first-time challenge to take with your friends and family or make a personal goal for yourself, sign up for the 25 mile option.

Teams: Forming and joining a Memory Ride team is a great way to get friends, family and co-workers together for a fun and rewarding day. Teams can be made up of riders and volunteers. The fundraising minimums are all added together so team members can help each other out when it comes to raising money.

Don't forget that corporate matching gifts that come in before September 1, 2009 do count towards your fundraising minimums. Contact Lori Coburn at 617-868-6718 for more information. For a list of companies that offer matching gifts, click here.
